August 27, 2009

Darn show turned into a Nissan Infomercial for awhile but the information about the new Leaf all electric car is still very interesting. Top of the hour was all about the problems you don’t have by owning a 1.7 million dollar car (bugotti Verone). Can you imagine having to replace the tires every 10,000 miles and the tires and wheels at 30,000 miles for $73000! Holy Cow! Also on the agenda were cash for clunkers and the new cash for refrigerators. Good luck to you appliance salesmen, you are not going to sell a thing the next three months then we will clean you out. Don’t forget the Cancer walk-a thon check out www.give.sanjuanmedicalfoundation.com if your are interested. As always if you have any question or something fun to share about the car business contact us via www.horacenissan.com and thanks for listening.

August 20th 2009 Show

August 20, 2009

Wow, great show today with Glenn and Clifton going over all the news with the Federal Governments Cash for Clunker program. Dealers are running out of cash and inventory and many are voluntarily stopping the C4C program, not because they are “looking the gift horse in the mouth” but just because they are responsible businessmen who understand that they need cash to pay their employees, pay their taxes (and yours) and make sure the transactions are completed.

Also discussed were the dangers of selling a car yourself. Kruse international, a huge collector car auction company is not paying owners who sold their cars through them. Be careful out there; if you consign a car, do not give them the title. If you sell your car do not give the buyer the title until the check clears and or if they pay cash.  Double check the VIN# with the state of New Mexico to see if there are any hidden liens and make sure the person you are buying the car from is the same person who is on the title. Don’t jump title!

Last thought is the 27th annual Cancer Walk-a-thon September 26th. Check out www.give.sanjuanmedicalfoundation.com or call 609-2274 for details. Also a short “God Bless” to Overrightt Trucking for one of the most generous gifts (they gave a brand new car to Sacred Heart Church) we have seen in many years. Thanks for listening and if you want to contact us just got to www.horacenissan.com.

Yea hah, 1.333 Billion spent on C4C programs and some are dealers dropping out of the program because they are having difficulty getting paid by the government (imagine that). Horace Nissan Hyundai will continue regardless. Advise to consumers; “Ask first” if the dealer is participating in the C4C program. It will save you a lot of time and aggravation. www.cars.gov for more details. Also discussed was the new 210 MPG Chevrolet VOLT. Sorry folks it won’t get 210 mpg unless you go 80 miles on the batteries and 130 miles on the next gallon of gas (not likely). The EPA and NHTSA have already said that they have not tested the volt. It is just GMs prediction of how the vehicle will do. Everyone is wondering whether they will develop new tests for Electrics and Hybrid cars so the public is not seriously confused (doubt it).

Glenn discussed what is your favorite Pontiac Firebird?   Remember the Barbie Bluebird? http://www.auto-power-girl.com/images-info/kevin_morgan_pontiac_trans_am_renderings-2771-1033. for the really strange idea of changing your brand new Camero into a Trans Am… As always thanks for listening and email us via www.horacehyundai.com if you have any questions.

August 6th, 2009 Show

Fun show today, Talked about the C4C program (again) and then speculated about all the other government stimulus programs that could follow the same path. How About Cash for Polyester leisure suits? Dough for davenports, or Cash for Beanbags… Or how about Cash for platform shoes that would stimulate the shoe industry and save us from terrible Halloween costumes. Some drag racing stories, a visit from Jeff Bingaman, and just lots of stupid car stuff. Give us a listen or contact us via www.horacenissan.com . Glenn Gent or Clifton Horace would love to help you out.
